PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Carmel Drive Sidewalks – Ph II project aims to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility along Carmel Drive from Teurlings Dr. to the Webb Coulee bridge crossing. The project will involve the construction of new sidewalks along the Carmel Drive corridor, which will provide safer and more convenient walking routes for residents and visitors alike. These replacements will implement ADA compliant sidewalk widths and ADA curb ramp improvements at intersections. This project is expected to tie into the Carmel Drive Sidewalks Phase I (LCG/AMPO) project.
TYPICAL SECTION
The graphic below provides a conceptual view of the proposed improvements that will be considered for the project.
DRAINAGE AND GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE CONSIDERATIONS
The drainage and green infrastructure considerations for the Carmel Drive Sidewalks – Ph II project are currently being reviewed.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS
Upon research, there have not been any significant considerations identified that must be reviewed and potentially addressed.
*Note that this is not exhaustive of possible future environmental considerations.
UTILITIES CONSIDERATIONS
A preliminary assessment of the project area is provided for the utilities listed below. Potential utility relocation costs will be included in the project budget if the infrastructure is located within the utility’s own servitude.
RIGHT OF WAY CONSIDERATIONS
The project expects to stay in the existing right-of-way although potential construction servitudes may be required for the replacement of driveways to make them ADA compliant for the new sidewalks.
